Whats on // October

It's that time of year again, the days are drawing in and the nights are getting colder, autumn is truly upon us and once again it's the month of Halloween! 🎃

We all know that Halloween is a bit like marmite, some people love it some people hate it. Even if you hate it there’s no stopping it so you might as well embrace the festivities and make the most of it. Whether out with friends or family there will be some spoooktactular (yes I felt sick writing that) events to tickle your fancy. I'll start off with some non halloween related activities though just to ease you in....

Oktober fest

Oktoberfest is definitely worth getting involved in, a day celebrating Bavarian food, entertainment and of course traditional beer steins! It’s been based in various locations throughout Brighton but this year it’s being held at the Level.

Brighton Illustration Fair

Something for the art lovers, back for its 5th year the Brighton Illustration fair is happening early October, if you fancy checking out an eclectic mix of illustrations from a range of talented artists this is the place to be.

Sussex art fair

If you can’t make that weekend, there is another art fair on at Brighton racecourse with over 125 exhibitors with 1000’s of pieces on show, if you’re looking for some unique artwork this is the place to find it. The Sussex art fairs collaborate with the artists showcasing by donating proceeds from certain artworks to help raise funds for the Sussex Wildlife trust, even more reason to pop along.

Tulleys farm

Of course we have to have something about Halloween in the month of October, Tulleys farm is a great option if you’re looking for a bit of a fright this halloween; they have a family friendly spookfest with a twisted fun house, pumpkin patch show and witch in the woods walk there is plenty to entertain! They also host an adult version - shocktober, a host of actors play the undead in 9 different creepy haunts, lurking around every corner ready to scare you witless.

Tulley’s farm also has PYO pumpkins so you can choose your perfect carving pumpkin to get you into the spirit of halloween!

Folklores 5th Birthday

Folklore is a night held at The White Rabbit in Brighton each month, it's a folk orientated night of live music as the name would suggest, there is always live music on in Brighton but Folklore sessions are not to be missed. This October it will be their 5th birthday and so are hosting a special celebration on the 15th of October, bands playing include Jacko Hooper, Paper Hawk, Family Fiction amongst others.

Hopefully there is something for everyone this October and happy halloween everyone  🎃
