Wedding Season // Our top blogger picks

Now wedding season is in full-flow, it’s time to unzip your suit from its dry-clean bag, iron your best white shirt and polish those brogues. Here’s some quick, inexpensive tips on how to update your look.

You may have seen girls parading their ankles this summer in loose cropped trousers (previously dubbed ‘ankle-swingers’ and now rebranded as 'culottes'), but that’s not to say gents have to miss out on the action. Matthew Zorpas from thegentlemanblogger.com teams his blue cropped chinos with a white shirt, gingham blazer and brown brogues for wedding style with a Riviera edge.

Sergio Ines from What My Boyfriend Wore demonstrates how to be a modern dandy; camel blazer, dark trousers, statement accessories and staple white shirt make for a stylish look that won’t outshine the groom. Keep the basis of your outfit neutral and then pick a colour (in this case, burgundy) to run through your bow tie/tie and pocket square, even if the prints clash, to add a dash of personality.

Keep it basic with block colour: Adam Gallagher from I Am Galla chooses go-to blue for his suit but in this soft powder shade – perfect for the sunny season. Swap leather brogues for crisp white sneakers for church-to-reception comfort.

Revive your go-to suit with accessories, as demonstrated by male superblogger Mariano Di Vaio (mdvstyle.com). Beaded bracelets, a coloured signet ring, a contrast-dial watch or colourful pocket square can take your suit from bland to bold.
