In August 2024, The Executive Shaving Company announced that it would cease trading on 30th August 2024.
It was sad news for the traditional wet shaving community. Executive Shaving had been a familiar name in men's grooming for many years, offering razors, shaving brushes, skincare and traditional shaving products to customers across the UK and beyond.
Why Did Executive Shaving Close?
In its closure announcement, Executive Shaving said that challenging economic conditions had made it increasingly difficult to sustain the business.
The company also stated that the impact of Brexit had reduced its monthly sales by approximately £10,000 and contributed to the financial pressures it was experiencing.
As another independent British grooming business, we understood many of the pressures being discussed. Running a small business through changing economic conditions, rising costs and shifts in customer behaviour can be challenging.
Executive Shaving and Traditional Wet Shaving
Executive Shaving played a visible role in the UK wet shaving community, offering a broad selection of traditional double-edge safety razors, brushes, shaving preparations and grooming products.
It also produced a large amount of educational content around traditional shaving, helping introduce customers to safety razors and alternatives to disposable cartridge shaving.
For many wet shaving enthusiasts, it was a familiar name within the industry.
Traditional Shaving Today
Traditional wet shaving remains a great option for anyone who prefers the simplicity of a double-edge safety razor, replaceable blades and a good shaving preparation.
