What's on // November

So the bonfire season is now well on it’s way and there have been plenty of early celebrations down here in Brighton. However there’s more to November than just Guy Fawkes night.

That being said, first on the list is ....

Lewes Bonfire night

This is not only renowned in the local area, people travel from far and wide to see the awesome procession, bonfires and outstanding firework display. The different bonfire societies work on their costumes, procession march and superb effigies all year round for this one night of the year, for this alone it is not to be missed. There are a choice of bonfires and firework displays from each society so you can take your pick when the procession ends!

The event is Jam packed so probably not for those who don’t like crowds, you also need to plan ahead if you’re going as they close the roads so no access via cars/buses and the trains stop running at 5pm.

Japanese cultural festival

A bit of a curve ball, but a lovely way to experience a little bit of Japanese culture. There is traditional dancing, live performances, games activities and of course Japanese food! Only £1 entry and kids are free!

Who up for an escape room

Pier pressure run a variety of escape rooms in various awesome settings! There are 4 main venues including the Pavillion Perplex, Modrophenia, Raver Quest and Loot the lane. All have different levels of difficulty and theme to the event. Occasionally they have a guest venue for a limited time, until early November they are running an escape room in the beautiful preston manor. Places book up really quickly as it’s such a popular event! They are also running a festive themed escape room in which you must help the elves figure out where Santa has to deliver all of the presents, high stakes indeed!

Life drawing

Now before some of you swoon, there is an option to have a clothed model if full on nudity isn’t your thing. Life drawing can be fun for anyone whether you can draw or not, but obviously it isn’t for everyone. If you fancy giving it a go however there are various classes running at the New England House until Thursday 28th November.

Brighton Vegan Festival

Featuring many delicious vegan food stalls, for some guilt free eating! Though there will be a some beauty, clothing, wellness and charity stalls too! As well as getting a tasty vegan treat attending will definitely earn you some life brownie points too as all of the profits of the event go to the Farplace animal rescue charity, helping to rehome rescued animals. I’ve heard they allow non vegans in too :P so everyone welcome!

Off the record - Independent music festival

Held at the Brunswick near Hove lawns, they’re hosting an alternative music festival celebrating independent bands. There is always something musical happening in this awesome city, but this isn’t one to miss.
