Spring Summer Mens Skincare // Simple steps
So why is skincare so important; there are daily stressors to your skin that over time can cause your skin to look permanently dull and tired and contribute to looking prematurely aged. If you like to keep yourself looking your best, ensuring your skin is in good condition by having a skin care regimen is going to help hugely. Of course there is no substitute for a good balanced diet and exercise as they are major players when it comes to looking and feeling healthy.
Mens skincare routine's don't have to be a big deal, just a few good products and 5 minutes spent in the morning and evening. Obviously if you want to take time over it and enjoy doing so, all the better.
Get to know your skin, as the seasons change it’s likely that you will need to treat your skin differently. Winter months for instance, replenishing the moisture in your skin is essential to avoid dry dull and possibly cracked skin. So upping the amount of times you moisturise is a good place to start and can be easily achieved no matter how much time you have on your hands.
Now that we’re well into spring however and summer is just around the corner, here are some tips for Mens skincare for the warmer months to keep your skin fresh.
Cleanse daily. Twice daily. Morning and night. No exceptions. On top of this you may choose to use a mild exfoliator a couple of times a week, this will keep your pores from becoming clogged and congested as you produce more sweat and sebum in the summer months on top of the usual pollutants and dirt we pick up daily. The result of exfoliating will achieve a brighter and fresh faced visage and leave you primed for a serum or moisturiser and the all important suncream.
In the warmer months you’ll want to use a lighter mens moisturiser so that your skin can still breathe, as too heavy or too thick a coating of moisturiser will cause your skin to become clogged up. A mattifying mens moisturiser will help to keep shine under control, so you’re not wandering round like a lit up ball ball at Christmas.
If you choose to a hydrating serum is a good addition to apply after cleansing and before moisturising if you feel your skin is feeling particularly dry and dehydrated.
Lastly, and a very important point is to wear suncream. We all know how damaging the suns rays are, by all means make the most of the Summer but just be sure to liberally apply sunscreen even if you’re not going to be out in it long. Nothing is more ageing than damage caused by UV rays. Nobody likes burning either, it’s sore and uncomfortable and leaves you looking like a tomato who’s run a marathon. Not a good look!
This is so simple and quick to achieve there’s no excuse to skip these few steps, your skin will thank you for it.
Be happy in your skin and enjoy what the goodness sunshine brings! ☀️
